The other night after too much (delicious) Mexican food at Ojeda’s, my friends and I craved something sweet but light and healthy. As we wished aloud for a Pinkberry, the low-fat frozen desert phenomenon that’s taken over NY and Hollywood, someone proclaimed there was one is in Addison. We raced up the Tollway.
In reality, it’s not Pinkberry, it’s Berry Berry, a brand new low-fat frozen yogurt shop that is, let’s just say, inspired by Pinkberry. Berry Berry’s original “YoGo” is little more than frozen plain yogurt and toppings include fresh fruit and berries (blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries), unsalted nuts, dried cranberries, Zante currants and more that are both healthy and yummy. An LA transplant in our group declared it as good as the original and I’ve been back already. Taste what all the buzz it about at:

We've got Sprinkles. Now we've got the West Coast yogurt craze as well. I know, I know, it's really a Korean thing. I noticed this tonight and probably caused an accident as I flew across the street. Since hearing about Pinkberry my eyes have been peeled for anything with berry in the name. The location is just west of Midway on the north side of Belt Line. They had four flavors: plain, cappuccino, apricot/peach, and custard. They were all very tasty but the plain was simply wonderful. It had that great yogurt tang and was not overly sweet, though I would have gone with even a little less sweetness. They also have a wide selection of toppings that looked pretty fresh for the most part. A small, which is a good size, is 2.50, and for the amount of flavor you're getting it's a great deal.
